Native American -Blog Post

The Native Americans where marginalized, and pushed against by the society of their time.They where seen as savages that needed to be turned into a more proper kind of people. Push to the point of losing what made them then. Taken away from their families and shown a new way, the way society wanted. In the text it said they where taken away from their homes and families first by asking then by force."It was not Pratt's plan to simply educate these children and teach them English. He planed to "civilize" them-to strip them of their traditions and ways of life." They where seen as something that needed to be changed. The before and after pictures show how they had became changed. From what they once where. Changed by the motives of society and what society wanted them to be. Not what they wanted to or what they where.

Luther Standing Bear was brought to a school where he was changed from his heritage and taken away from his family, this might not be the same case with Shanice Britton. But she is the fate of all this past. Times have changed, Native Americans are no longer pushed. Shanice Britton gladly shows her Native American Culture proudly a pound her sleeve. Luther Standing Bear might have been changed but he still knew who he was at heart. Even after being pushed and tattered by the society of the past. Shanice Britton and Luther Standing Bear where always proud to be Native American at heart and soul. That is something that won't be changed. Shanice Britton made her essay to show she was not afraid of who she was because of the past. She was pround of her heritage and who she was. She gladly wears her Native pride to school and around her home. She has noting to fear any more. For she is what she is, and that can't be changed. 

4th quarter 4th blog

""The path they took threw the hills was indeed covered, horses and archers arrows fired from above at them as they road past on their horses. The enemy house well rested from now running and chase where slowly catching up with them. Slowly more and more where being picked off by enemy archers. As they only hope the other are doing better. They had decide not to fire back because firing back, backwards could allow them to slow down mess up and are more likely to get hit. They focused on escaping the path, as they where ridding forward.""

The main characters or leaders of the group where the ones who took the hills. Defiantly sense it was most likely the most dangerous path."" That and it would keep less troops from the other ones who took different paths. They thought for their troops not them selfs, as their goal was to get as many out alive as possible. And by the looks of it they have both failed and won. Their plan was to take the most dangerous path they where hopes they didn't get caught but hope they did instead of their colleges.

4th Quarter 3rd blog

"They expected to be attacked"After ambushing a group of soldiers their was they did not manage to take many of them out. They seem prepared, after run after them they saw scouts."They may have not known exactly when are where - we did surprise them. But they where expecting a attack." Watching them, before even getting their they had passed by a merchant. He was the only one who could have possible told on them. They then after a few minutes thought, "Its a trap! This way!"their could be a possible ambush ahead. They then decided that they should split up. Their enemy army was well known for staying and attack in groups. Splitting up could be the only way for escape. All the slowest runners took a path threw the woods. The Rest travels threw a very steep hill path. The forest path was only took by a few because to many of them crossing to the forest could be easy to see by the troops coming. 1/3 of the rest of the group took around the side of the hills. And the rest travels threw. Their mission was to get as many out as possible. Let as many live, they knew their opens could have decently planed ahead of time and possible blocked one or two or even all their founts. But they must try, the main characters took the hill path with most of the group.


They where thinking very tactically, as their many goal was to get as many people out safely their thinking out side the box and using all possibility and tricks they could use. They should have known not to trust people you meet on the road."" Definitely if they are well wanted. They trusted the merchant and now their running for their lives.

3rd quarter 2nd blog

The main character has now freed all the slaves from the wood tower. As they get ready to for the run they send a single to the archers to shoot the fire arrows. But they didn't, the guards are all out side the tower and its most likely they will see. But then one of them, who said he could speck to the sprites said that fire will come if he uses the steel from his sword and the piece of flint he had. It indeed worked. She said that she talked to the sprite of steel and fire. As she smashed the two together sparked flew all across the wooden towers floor. It went into a blaze all the slaves ran. As they where running the girl had gotten surrounded. As he looked back yelling her name, she looked calm and cool and she walked threw the fire and she didn't even catch fire. For she had spoken to the sprites. 

I thought this part was amazing. They used a lot of detail. I could write so much more, I like how this book real shows how the book looks and how it helps you imagine everything. Theirs also a good amount of suspense, or at least from what I read so far.
